Our first 3 days in the village were spent bonding with the children and getting use to village life. The children drew water from the well for cooking, cleaning dishes, and bathing. Water is really the source of life for people here. (everywhere for that mater) I think the hardest thing for me was not having a shower. I love running water and do not think I will ever take advantage of that again. I found it easy to acclimate to cooking on a small stove with limited products. I do wish I would have brought my own spices, lesson learned for next time. We enjoyed moments of laughter playing outside, going on walks, and cuddling after dinner watching a movie on the laptop. The kids have fallen in love with Nemo and TinTin. On the 19th we went into town for business and the children had to stay behind in the village. It was hard leaving them and they were very glad to see us when we returned.
I will leave the rest of this post to the pictures and the captions I have made for them

ReplyDeletewell, these are just amazing. You, Jason, Adah and Jadon look so much at HOME in Uganda. I pray your new kids will feel at home when they leave and come back with you to the UA and Italy. I spent yesterday with Julianne and family as they prepare to leave tomorrow. You were on our minds. Sending love and light your way.
