Tickets and Bags and Snacks OH MY!!!

Well, excitingly enough last night we took the plunge and bought our 4 one way tickets to Entebbe Uganda! Our trip will start out a 10am Sunday morning the 16th at Aversa Train station (unless someone wants to drive us to Rome??? hint hint friends). We will take the train to Rome central and switch trains to get to the airport. At 2 PM our flight will leave for Cairo, Egypt. No we won't be seeing any pyramids on our 4 hour layover, however Jason plans to get a Starbucks mug from there!!! Wonder where that will fit into our luggage at? I am sure that whoever delivers us from the airport to the village will think we have moved there by all of the luggage we will end up taking.

We will arrive in Entebbe at 3:15 am. From that point on, I have NO idea what will happen at this point. I am assuming we will find a hotel, then wake to prepare for our BIG GOTCHA DAY!!!

Today, I received my last vaccination. I think that makes a total of 12 stabs for me. Crazy, huh! After that shot, I was inspired to come home and pack at least one bag! So I packed an old army duffle full with the backpacks my father and step-mother sent the kids, LOTS and LOTS of snacks, clothing to share with the babies home, and disposable cameras that my father sent for Duncan, Faith, and Mark to take pictures of their beloved "pearl of Africa" before leaving. It is breaming full and ready to GO!!!

Monday or Tuesday I hope to start a 5-7 day FLASH auction...meaning it will be SHORT and SWEET and together we can RAISE $$$ to save lives in Bugabo village.  Every dime that is made through the auction will go to offset the $3000 need for malaria medication for the clinic that Ekubo ministries runs. It costs about $7 per dose of medication when someone comes down with malaria and needs help fighting off the disease. I would love to AT least be able to donate 100 doses to the clinic. That is $700 needed to be raised and that is 100 lives we could help save together!!!  Just two months ago a 3 year old little girl passed away in Bugabo because there were no malaria meds to help her fight the disease. We all can be a part in saving a little life like this! This is not something I have been asked to do...it is something that God has called me to do! I hope you each can share in that calling and reap the blessings from it too!

Keep your eyes peeled for a SHORT but SWEET auction with some fun items for you to treasure starting on Monday!

Praising God from whom all blessings flow.....
