MAK'IN PROGRESS!

We are making progress. This is not just an emotional and spiritual journey it is also an administrative one. We have submitted almost all of our paperwork to our social worker. The only things left to hand over are things we are "waiting" for. Jason and I met Jane Santos, our social worker, last night via a skype call. It was a wonderful hour of conversation and getting to know one another. We also were given really good news about our desire to adopt from Uganda. When adopting from Uganda the adoption is not final in Uganda. We would only be given legal guardianship and then we have to return to the States to adopt the children in our state of residence. Well, that is kind of hard when living in another country. Jane asked us last night what our state of residence was and we told her WA state!!! The relief that washed over her face was like a refreshing rain falling upon my heart!!! She said that our state of residence could not get any better than that! YAY!!! So now we just need to finalize an agency and we can start our immigration paperwork. Our good news does not mean that there will not be some major hurdles. Please be in prayer with us over some logisitics. I plan to meet with the Judge Advocates office to find out the implications of bringing the children back to Italy first. I am not sure that we will be allowed to without the proper passport and visa. Please pray we find the answers we need and if we indeed have to fly from Uganda straight to WA on a commercial flight that the Lord would just provided those extra funds to do so.
