OPERATION HONOR has begun!!!! Read about the inspiration behind it...

I was a bit skeptical to do an AUCTION prior to leaving for our GOTCHA TRIP to Uganda and especially after seeing GOD BLOW my SOCKS off with the amount of money that came in for the adoption expenses! To date He raised through speaking to the hearts of many many people a mind blowing $13, 753. That is $3,753 more dollars than we set a goal for. God knew what He was doing though for the $3,753 is much needed to offset traveling during peak season months of summer!

So..I was and am still a bit skeptical.

I said to my Lord, "Lord, I think people may be 'gived'  out."

He said, "Answer the call."

and I argued with Him back and forth thus putting off this auction.

THEN.... Last Thursday night while meeting ladies who were buying my retired Silpada jewelry, one of my buyers happened to be a well know artist in the military community. She is known for her fabulous oil paintings, sculptures, and art classes on roofing tiles and demijhanas. I am sure I am not doing much justice to her profile...but what I can say is that she is AWESOME. Not just an AWESOME artist but an AWESOME, passionate, loving woman and her name is Kristen Cauble-Morse. So, after Kristen paid me for her jewelry she looked at me and said, "You are doing another auction right?" Um...well...I dunno....I guess I could??? She proceeded to hand me a prized possession in this community...ONE of her most beloved paintings printed on CANVAS!!! And then she stuck WaterColor prints of all 5 of her Italy paintings into an envelope and said, "I want you to have all of these for that auction."

Well....

"Ok, Lord. I think I get the picture (no pun intended)."

So I came home and prayed and sought His face. What do I raise money for Lord??? We have plenty now. I need to use this to help others. Then I remembered a conversation that I had with the Executive Director of Ekubo Ministries in Bugabu, Uganda a few days after accepting our referral back in March.

The conversation went something like this:
Christie, how can Jason and I help when we get to Africa?
What is the biggest need the village has that is the most difficult to meet?

She responded without hesitation and said "Malaria Medication."

That is IT!!! That is what this auction is for MALARIA MEDS for the CLINIC in Bugabu Village.

Here is  recent account from the village where a 3 year old girl passed away because malaria meds had run out. She is the little one sitting with her mama and also being held and pictured below in this collage.  Taken from Ekubo's Facebook page the Director states "No parent should bury their baby nor should siblings watch the body of their baby sister be lowered into the ground in a tiny wooden coffin because of a disease that is easily prevented and/or treated. Mourning the loss of a child we serve. Sweet Rebecca. 3 years old. Their baby daughter. Their baby sister. PREVENTABLE. So broken. Please pray."

The Clinic is in need of $3000 for these medicines to be restocked.

It costs approximately $7USD to treat one person who has become sick with uncomplicated Malaria.
Check out the other post to learn more about Malaria.

I seek to raise enough money with your help and prayers for 100 doses = $700USD...
I don't just seek to raise it, I plan for Jason and I to watch it be delivered!!!

However...I fully expect to have my SOCKS blown off once again by OUR Great Provider!

Partner with me during "Operation Honor" to save lives in Bugabo as we HONOR the HERITAGE of our sweet children who have been cared for and loved by this community until time to make them ours FOREVER!
